1. Send an email to ‘adoptions@shibarescue.org’ explaining why you are a great fit for her, along with proof of current vet records, including preventatives, for all pets in the house.
2. Submit a completed application.
3. Be willing to travel to the Aurora, IL area to meet/adopt her.

My name is Valentina and I am 4-years-old and weigh about 26 pounds.
I am looking for a forever home that has another doggy sibling for me! I love playing with other dogs and also learn from them. I’ve never been in a home before so there’s a lot to learn!
A home with a fenced in yard would be great for me! I’m a bit rambunctious on a leash when walking so I would need some more practice at that.
I’m great at being groomed and have become very used to my medicated baths that I get to help regrow my fur. I’ll need them for a few more months as well as allergy shots from the vet.
I can be left home alone and I don’t mess with anything because I’m a very good girl! I love sleeping in my crate at night because it makes me feel safe and cozy. I love to alert my humans when I see people outside so you can count on me to protect the family

AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.
Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about. Once the adoption application is received, our adoption coordinator will contact you. You must respond to this email to set up your home visit and complete the approval process. The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.
NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area. In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
