Hello. My name is Hawaiian Tropic and I might look like a baby polar bear, but I am actually a five-year-old Shiba Inu!
I would do well in a home with another dog and kids over the age of six. I don’t love loud noises or fast movements…unless I’m the one making them while I’m playing! I greet my owners affectionately by giving a little howl when they come home. I like to be pet but am not into cuddling. I can be somewhat aloof, which is typical of Shibas.
I am still learning how to walk on a leash so a fenced yard would be ideal. I enjoy spending time outside anyway and would love to explore in a yard!
I’m very food motivated and I love to play with crinkle and chew toys! I’m a savvy escape artist so keeping an eye on doors in the house and having a sturdy harness for me to wear on walks is a must!
I’m quite a sweet girl looking for a loving family! Hopefully I can find it soon!
NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shiba Inus should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area. In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
