Hello! My name is Ember and I am an adorable shiba puppy looking for a family to call my own! We think I am about 7-months old and I weigh about 12 pounds.
I am a sweet girl looking for a very patient family that will help me build my trust in humans and the world around me! I enjoy exploring the yard with my foster humans and am learning how to walk on a leash. I am small and very fast and love to escape, so I will need a family who is well-versed in escape artists and knows how to manage this.
I would thrive in a clam household that has regular routines and probably wouldn’t thrive in a home with small children right now. I like to join my current family out in the living room. I love when they hold me in their arms. It makes me feel so safe! I am an independent girl and do not need any other animals as family members but I do get along well with other dogs and even cats - and would probably benefit from a confident doggy friend. It's important that my new family has a plan to help me socialize with other people so that I can learn to trust them. I think I'd love to do some training classes, too, so that’s really important for my future family to take into consideration. I even know some commands already, so I'd be at the head of the class!
I know I will make my future family very happy and I cannot wait to meet them!
CURRENTLY BEING FOSTERED IN PAPILLION, NE
NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shiba Inus should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area. In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
