Hello, I am a gorgeous and very energetic 14-pound 5-month Shiba named Maggie. You may call me Maggie Mae if you’d like…as long as it’s said with lots of love! Hee, hee!! I’m a pretty confident lady who felt right at home as soon as I came to live with my foster family. In fact, I want to be in their space 24/7 and although I prefer to wrestle, I can be quite the snuggle bug if they can finally convince me to settle and take a nap!
I am not crazy about that dungeon you people call a ‘kennel/crate’ and won’t go in there on my own, however, my family puts me in there when they need to leave and if they include a Kong, I won’t cry for long…Hey, that rhymed! Anyway, I’m still a puppy so not sure if this is “separation anxiety” per se, but I get SUPER excited to see my family when they get home…even if it’s only been 5 minutes. Hey, here’s an idea…I enjoy going on leashed walks, so why don’t you take me WITH you!?! I’m just sayin’!
As a puppy, I like to use my voice so shared walls might not be a good fit for me and although I’m pretty good about alerting, potty training is a work in progress. I usually go after eating and drinking but I’ve been known to have an accident if I get too excited during playtime. Like I said, a work in progress but I’m a smart girl so I know I’ll get there.
I’ve spent some time with those meowy things and must say that although they spent most of their time avoiding me, my interest has been piqued. I am great with kids, strangers, and other dogs and will need a playful canine companion who will help fend off that boredom bug if ya know what I mean! LOL!! That said, I admit I’m still working on boundaries with other dogs. It’s true, I have so much fun playing with them that I sometimes struggle to stop when they’re played out.
I truly am an incredibly sweet girl who is simply looking for an energetic furever home with a patient and loving family who will love me unconditionally, NEVER give up on me and whose ready for some energy and sass!! I promise, if you give me a chance to show you what TRUE love is, I will fill a void in your life that you probably never knew existed!! Love, Maggie
NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shiba Inus should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area. In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
