_____________________________________________________________________________

Hi! My name is Banner and I’m about 2 -years-old and weigh around 20 pounds.

I’m a well-natured pup who is looking for my forever home! I do best when learning from another dog - particularly my brother Rocket. I’d love a home with him but if that’s not possible I would need another confident dog in the house.

I am a lover boy who enjoys hanging out with people once I’ve gotten to know them a bit! I enjoy attention from humans but don’t compete for it. I just take what I can get when I can get it!

I love snoozing in my crate at night. It’s so cozy and safe! During the day if I’m home alone I’m left in a room with a gate and I’m a very good boy - never getting into trouble when I’m alone. I am playful and would love another dog friend to play with! Going for walks where I can try to chase the squirrels and bunnies is quickly becoming one of my favorite hobbies! I love to sniff all the amazing smells of nature too!

Now that you know a little bit about me, go check out my brother’s bio because what’s better than 1 Shiba mix…well, 2 of them of course!

  • Currently is being fostered near Chicago, IL

IMPORTANT: If you are interested in Banner, please follow the instructions above, starting with emailing his personal secretary at adoptions@shibarescue.org with any applicable vet records for you current pets, and let us know why you think your family would be a perfect home. We are an all-volunteer rescue, so it may take time to receive a response. Please limit to one email per family - we thank you in advance for your patience!

AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about.  Once the adoption application is received, our adoption coordinator will contact you.  You must respond to this email to set up your home visit and complete the approval process.  The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.

NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area.  In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
