Hello there! My name is Juniper. I’m about five-years old and weigh 33 lbs. Juniper trees are a symbol of strength. I like to think I am strong too. It’s apparent by my ears and scars that I have survived many hardships in my life. I am ready to live out the best years of my life in a sun filled home with my forever family.

The sun is my favorite thing. If I could sleep in a sun beam all day long I would do it! I also absolutely love having my face scratched. If a human stops scratching me, I will inch my face closer to them to remind them I still exist and that their sole job in life is to scratch my face. Add in some playtime with toys and the occasional zoomies and you have my ideal day!

I enjoy going for walks with my foster family and being outside! They say I walk well on a leash and I get excited to see other dogs during the walk. I need a home with a securely fenced-in yard, though, as that’s really where my personality comes out. I don’t try to chase after bunnies or squirrels like other Shibas do. Have you heard about the garbage truck? It is my arch nemesis and it terrifies me! So keep a good grip on my leash whenever we see or hear one.

I currently live with another dog, who in my opinion is a bit bossy but I’m okay with that. They’re teaching me how to be a real dog now that I get to live in a home - and I need a doggy friend in my furever home in order to thrive.

I am still learning how to do all my bathroom jobs outdoors, but practice makes perfect and I’m determined to be the best dog possible for my forever family. I hope to meet them soon!

If you’d like to speed up the process, please fill out and submit an application. To speed things up even more, send Ali your pet’s most recent vet records.

AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about.  Once the adoption application is received, our adoption coordinator will contact you.  You must respond to this email to set up your home visit and complete the approval process.  The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.

NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area.  In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
