Hello! My name is Haribo….yes I am just as sweet as the gummy bears! I am a 3-year-old Shiba and weigh 23 pounds.

You’re probably wondering just how sweet I actually am. Well, I love to be pet and I love to be held. I will cuddle up right next to you and stay there as long as you want me to. Unless I see one of my favorite squeaky ball toys then I might have to go romp around in the living room and get some energy out with my favorite toy. I also really care about recycling and I love to help my foster parents rip apart cardboard so that it can fit in the recycling bin better. I am a dog of many talents!

I’m a great walker and am used to walking about a mile in the morning and the evening with some short trips out during the day as well. I hope my forever family loves to walk too!

I love playing with other animals. I have a dog friend in the neighborhood and I also love trying to get the resident cat to play with me. So far it’s been a bit one sided but I’m committed to winning them over!

I’m house-trained and can be left out of my crate during the day for about 4 hours without messing with anything. I do love having my crate to sleep in and when the house gets a bit loud during the day.

If you’re looking for a sweet, active, and curious dog I’m the one for you! See ya soon!

  • Currently is being fostered near Minneapolis, MN

IMPORTANT: If you are interested in Haribo, please follow the instructions above, starting with emailing his personal secretary at adoptions@shibarescue.org with any applicable vet records for you current pets, and let us know why you think your family would be a perfect home. We are an all-volunteer rescue, so it may take time to receive a response. Please limit to one email per family - we thank you in advance for your patience!

For general adoption questions, please check the website here: shibarescue.org/adoption-process

AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about.  Once the adoption application is received, our adoption coordinator will contact you.  You must respond to this email to set up your home visit and complete the approval process.  The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.

NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area.  In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
