1. Send an email to ‘adoptions@shibarescue.org’ explaining why you are a great fit for her, along with proof of current vet records, including preventatives, for all pets in the house.
2. Submit a completed application.
3. Be willing to travel to the Grand Rapids, MI area to meet/adopt her.

Hello! I am an 8-year-old Shiba Inu named Eve! I weigh about 27 pounds.
I’m definitely a people-Shiba, which is not super common for a Shiba. I love my people! I want to spend as much time as I can with them. I love to snuggle close to them on the couch, or sit beside their feet. I can be alone for a little while but I would love a forever home where my person is able to be home with me most of the time.
I love getting pets and will nudge your hand or leg with my nose or give your blanket a little tug to remind you I’m still there waiting patiently for more attention. Belly rubs are my happy place.
I run to get my harness on when we are going on walks or car rides! And I am always happy to go exploring and playing in a fenced yard. When I’m done doing my business and my family goes inside, I RUN to the door like the happiest Shiba in the land!
I love playing with squeaky balls and shaking the stuffing out of my toys. I’m not into sharing though and I like to play with just my humans or all by myself—which is very entertaining to watch! I tolerate my foster siblings and, as long as they do not even think about touching my food, I like them okay.
I sleep soundly through the night and have the cutest little snore. I like to move around from dog bed to dog bed to carpet to under the bed, but then I settle down and dream the night away. When I need to go potty in the morning, I nudge my person or pull their blankets. Zero accidents. I’m a super star!

AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.
Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about. Once the adoption application is received, our adoption coordinator will contact you. You must respond to this email to set up your home visit and complete the approval process. The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.
NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area. In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
