Hello!

I’m a 5-year-old Shiba named Lucky. I weigh about 28 pounds. I am looking for a dog savvy family to spend the rest of my years with!

I’m a playful pup and love to play with toys, run in a securely fenced in yard, and go for walks! I need to be with a family who will walk me every morning so I can do my business because I’m kind of a stubborn Shiba and don’t like to go in my sanctuary - I mean my yard.

I love being outside and will take advantage of any open door to sneak out so older kids who know to keep doors shut would be okay. I do love being the center of attention and do not want to live with any other animals! This will give my humans more time to devote to me. I know giving me attention will also make them happy.

I’m a smart girl and know not to cause problems when I’m left alone. I don’t chew on anything I’m not supposed to! I can be crated but it’s not my personal preference. I’m living the good life with my foster family right now and can’t wait to continue doing so with my new forever family!

  • Currently is being fostered near Bloomington, MN

IMPORTANT: If you are interested in Lucky, please follow the instructions above, starting with emailing her personal secretary at adoptions@shibarescue.org with any applicable vet records for you current pets, and let us know why you think your family would be a perfect home. We are an all-volunteer rescue, so it may take time to receive a response. Please limit to one email per family - we thank you in advance for your patience!

For general adoption questions, please check the website here: shibarescue.org/adoption-process

AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about.  Once the adoption application is received, our adoption coordinator will contact you.  You must respond to this email to set up your home visit and complete the approval process.  The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.

NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area.  In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
