Hey there! I’m Bluebell. My best buds call be Blue. I’m still a baby at about 6-months-old. I am learning how to be a respectful, outgoing and expressive Shiba Inu!

I am a lover. I love my people, playing, and my ball. I love it so much I’ll even throw it for myself to catch! I even love new people, which can be rare for some Shibas. I’m a social butterfly who gets along with humans and other animals! Shibas are typically known for being independent but I definitely thrive when my people are around and giving me some good pets.

I really enjoy going for walks and need them in order to use the bathroom. I like to explore out in the nature to find the best spots! I can’t wait to go hiking with my future family.

If you’re looking for a cuddly, sweet and joyful young dog, then I am the boy for you!

  • Currently is being fostered near Chicago, IL

IMPORTANT: If you are interested in Bluebell, please follow the instructions above, starting with emailing his personal secretary at adoptions@shibarescue.org with any applicable vet records for you current pets, and let us know why you think your family would be a perfect home. We are an all-volunteer rescue, so it may take time to receive a response. Please limit to one email per family - we thank you in advance for your patience!

For general adoption questions, please check the website here: shibarescue.org/adoption-process

AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about.  Once the adoption application is received, our adoption coordinator will contact you.  You must respond to this email to set up your home visit and complete the approval process.  The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.

NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area.  In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
