Hi there! I’m Rose. I’m still a baby at about 6-months-old. I am learning how to be a respectful, outgoing and trusting Shiba Inu! I’m learning to trust people, but can be timid at times so very active households might not be ideal for me. I’d also do better with a family who is home more than away so we can spend lots of time together. I like to be the boss of my toys and food so families with shiba experience would be a good match for me.
I really enjoy going for walks and would like a family who will walk with me so I can explore and look for squirrels. I do have a high prey drive, but overall am a very good puppy and promise I’ll make my future family very happy.
If you’re looking for a sweet and sassy young dog, then I am the girl for you!
Currently is being fostered near Chicago, IL
IMPORTANT: If you are interested in Rose, please follow the instructions above, starting with emailing her personal secretary at adoptions@shibarescue.org with any applicable vet records for you current pets, and let us know why you think your family would be a perfect home. We are an all-volunteer rescue, so it may take time to receive a response. Please limit to one email per family - we thank you in advance for your patience!

AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.
Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about. Once the adoption application is received, our adoption coordinator will contact you. You must respond to this email to set up your home visit and complete the approval process. The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.
NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area. In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
