1. Send an email to ‘adoptions@shibarescue.org’ explaining why you are a great fit for him, along with proof of current vet records, including preventatives, for all pets in the house.
3. Submit a completed application.
4. Be willing to travel to the Indianapolis, IN area to meet/adopt him.

Hello! I’m Tavi, an 8-month-old Shiba pup weighing about 16 pounds.
I’m an energetic young guy who loves romping around in a fenced yard and playing with toys! I love attention from people I am familiar with! Give me all the pets and massages you want because I’ll take them!
I’m a great leash walker and would do fine in an apartment or non fenced house as long as I’m walked 2-3 times a day. A secure harness and two leashes is recommended as I do have the Shiba trait of trying to wiggle out of my harness at times. I also get nervous when I meet new people - especially men, but I am working on learning that they are not going to hurt me.
I would love a home with another dog sibling. I’m great at sharing and other dogs help me feel more secure. I am excited to find a forever home to grow up in and have so many fun experiences with my family!

AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.
Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about. Once the adoption application is received, our adoption coordinator will contact you. You must respond to this email to set up your home visit and complete the approval process. The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.
NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area. In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
