Noel is a Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue dog fostered in Madison, Wisconsin.
Meet Noel! Noel is a sweet and spunky 12 year old senior gal. She came into MSIR foster care as an owner surrender right before Christmas and was in very poor health. She had a very serious infection all over the inside of her mouth and in her teeth. She is recovering, resting and even starting to go on short walks now. Noel has no teeth left from her surgery, but she gets all the good (wet) food and treats now, according to her foster siblings. Noel’s eyes are a bit cloudy, but she can see fine. Noel also doesn’t appear to hear very well, but of course knows the second you walk in the door from another room (maybe just selective hearing?).
Noel loves to walk around the house and check things out until she finds the perfect spot to take a nap. She also loves to wander around outside in the backyard no matter the elements. She is learning more and more every day to trust people. Noel wants to be affectionate, but takes her a little longer to warm up to people. Her playful and silly personality is starting to show as she is getting more comfortable.
Noel gets along with her foster sibling dogs, resident cat and would do fine with older respectful children. Noel loves to follow around her foster siblings and has shown signs of wanting to play. Due to age and a touch of arthritis she cannot handle many steps in her future forever home. Noel is looking for someone to follow around the house, someone to take naps with, and go for short walks and take in all the sights and smells around the neighborhood.
Noel is currently being fostered in Madison, Wisconsin. If you are willing to open your home and heart to Noel or interested in more details on this sweet senior, please contact her foster family at email@example.com.
AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.
Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about. The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.
NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area. In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
