Joey is a growing puppy. He and his 3 littermates came to MSIR in early February because of a detected heart murmur. My vet gives Joey a grade 3 heart murmur, but is asymptomatic. In other words it’s not slowing him down.

Joey gets along with my older female and has sat in my lap with my cat. My male Shiba is not pleased at all with his presence in the house. He also gets along with the neighbor’s Lab and their 3 kids ages 4 through 11. Joey is a confident puppy walking on a leash into my bank and library without any hesitation.

Joey is playful and affectionate and eating up a storm. I am working on house training and he is getting pretty good with only a couple of accidents.

At the end of February he’ll receive his second set of puppy vx and will be mircochipped. Joey will then be ready for his forever home and new adventures.

The adoption fee for Joey is $350  Please refer to the MSIR website for more information on the application and adoption process.

NOTE: DUE TO THE BREED'S INDEPENDENT NATURE, SHIBAS SHOULD ALWAYS BE LEASHED WHENEVER THEY ARE OUTSIDE OF A SECURELY FENCED AREA. IN ADDITION, MANY SHIBAS ARE DOOR BOLTERS AND CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN AROUND DOORS AND OTHER ESCAPE POINTS.
  • Upon completion of each positive motivation-based obedience class, MSIR will rebate the new adopters $25.
  • And, upon earning a Good Canine Citizen certificate, MSIR will rebate another $25!

Any one interested in adopting null must first complete an adoption application and indicate, in the comments section, their interest in null.
The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site. Once the adoption application is received,  MJ will contact you.
