Belle is a very, very special little girl who needs a very special home. I think she is quite possibly a genius level dog. Her problem solving ability is extremely high. Higher than any of my own shibas have been -- and I think they are pretty smart!
She is also an amazing athlete who would excel at agility.
She is a climber and jumper! I would love for her to go to home where she has the opportunity to participate in agility. She can jump a 4 foot hurdle with ease and can almost clear my 6 foot fence. As a result, she needs a home with a securely fenced yard that is at least 6 ft high (no chain link fences, she can climb them!)
Belle is also high energy! She needs other dogs to play with or a human who has time to play with her. She will do best in a situation where she has room to run around. She is a champion at the shiba 500!
Belle has some bad habits (including reactivity to strange dogs and some object guarding) that we have been working on with the help of an excellent behaviorist. She is making great progress but still has a ways to go.

Belle has a sweet disposition but still has some fears which can cause triggers. She has come a VERY long way since I first took her in. She needs a forever home to provide the love and structure she needs to get the rest of the way there!
Belle will only be placed in an experienced dog home without children.
The adoption fee for Belle is $300. Please refer to the MSIR website for more information on the application and adoption process. NOTE: DUE TO THE BREED'S INDEPENDENT NATURE, SHIBAS SHOULD ALWAYS BE LEASHED WHENEVER THEY ARE OUTSIDE OF A SECURELY FENCED AREA. IN ADDITION, MANY SHIBAS ARE DOOR BOLTERS AND CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN AROUND DOORS AND OTHER ESCAPE POINTS. |

- Upon completion of each positive motivation-based obedience class, MSIR will rebate the new adopters $25.
- And, upon earning a Good Canine Citizen certificate, MSIR will rebate another $25!
