Keisho is fostered in Forest Park, Illinois.

Meet Keisho!  A sweet senior girl looking for her forever home.  Keisho is a recent owner surrender in need of a calm, quiet place for naps and exploring. She loves to take walks and explore the back yard.  You'll love her great leash manners and easy demeanor while exploring the town.

In the house, Keisho is rarely very near you, preferring her own bed in a quiet room.  She is very polite and does great with calm dogs and cats. Keisho has no interest in playing with toys or other animals, so she would be best in a low-key household.

Keisho is very easily startled and does not like to be pet without her consent.  She reacts very poorly to being picked up or harnessed.  Keisho would do best with a family who understands that and recognizes that she is not a cuddly dog and needs her space.  Keisho never jumps on the human furniture and is quite delicate in asking to go outside, for snacks, or dinner.

Any one interested in adopting this dog must first complete an adoption application indicating the name of the dog(s) they are interested in learning more about.  Once the adoption application is received, our adoption coordinator will contact you.  You must respond to this email to set up your home visit and complete the approval process.  The entire adoption process is outlined on our web site.

NOTE: Due to the breed's independent and prey driven nature, Shibas should ALWAYS be leashed whenever they are outside of a securely fenced area.  In addition, many Shibas are door bolters and care should be taken around doors and other escape points.
